Note on language. This section is written in English by request. Aparat's interface is in Persian, so every UI label is given as an English gloss followed by the exact on-screen Persian string in quotes — for example, Save («ذخیره در لیست پخش»). Always treat the quoted Persian as the authoritative label — with one deliberate exception, which applies to every page in this section. For the word video, Aparat's interface writes «ویدیو» everywhere, and so do its design files — apart from one mock video title used as sample content. The other spelling appears in Aparat's editorial prose: the support centre and the blog. By the product owner's decision this documentation writes «ویدئو» throughout, including inside quoted UI strings, so a quoted string here differs by that one word from what is on screen. Search the product for «ویدیو».
Introduction & Purpose
The Video Single page is the public page where anyone watches a single Aparat video — reached at aparat.com/v/[video-id]. It is the product's most visited page and the destination of nearly every share link, search result, recommendation, and embed. Before a viewer arrives here they have only a thumbnail and a title; this page is where they actually watch, decide whether to engage (like, follow, comment, save), and discover what to watch next.
Unlike the pages under the creator dashboard, this page is outward-facing and works without signing in — watching, reading the description, browsing recommendations, and reporting a video are all available to a signed-out visitor. Engagement actions that belong to an account (liking, following a channel, saving to a playlist, downloading, and posting a comment) send the visitor through a sign-in step first.
Business goal: maximise watch time and engagement on the highest-traffic surface of the product — keep the viewer watching (autoplay, recommendations, playlists), convert anonymous visitors into signed-in, engaged users (follow, comment, save), and drive discovery across channels while protecting the experience with reporting and moderation tools.
Scope
This section documents the desktop, tablet, and mobile-web Video Single page, split across a hub (this page) and five feature sub-pages:
- Playback & the player — the player, its controls, quality and speed, autoplay and the next-video end card, view modes (theater, scroll, fullscreen, mini-player), sections/moments, and the special player states (video processing, data-usage notice, VPN notice, in-player ads).
- Video actions — Like, Share (and Embed), Save to playlist, Download, Report, and the “more options” menu.
- Channel, title & description — the title and meta row (views, publish date, tags), the channel row and Follow/subscribe, verified badge, and the expandable description.
- Comments — posting, replying, liking, pinning and moderating comments; the signed-out state; and the temporary “commenting disabled” state.
- Recommendations & playlists — the recommended-videos column and its tabs, in-stream “referenced videos” cards, and the playlist panel/view (including the owner/admin view).
Out of scope (non-goals):
- Paid channel subscription, gifting, and reserved-subscription checkout. A channel-subscription/gift flow can be launched from this page, but in the design it is a heavily work-in-progress, separately-owned flow — the gift path is annotated as broken and falling back to an older version. It is documented separately, not here. See Open Questions.
- The creator dashboard (Overview, My Videos, Statistics, Comments management, Income, Live, Ads) — documented under پیشخوان کاربر. Comment moderation queues and the spam queue live there, not on this page.
- Uploading a video, the search results page, the channel page, the standalone playlist page.
- The native mobile apps and the TV app. This section covers mobile web only. Watching on a television is a separate surface — either the Aparat Android TV app or
tv.aparat.com. - Live watch page while a stream is on air (the design keeps a separate “Live Single” canvas). This section covers a saved video, including the saved recording of a live stream — which plays like any other video but is badged as such next to its title (see Channel, title & description BR-9).
Audiences & Roles
Watching a video looks the same for everyone; the differences are about whether the visitor is signed in and whether the viewer owns the video's channel. Aparat's approved account types (Newcomer, Video Producer, Monetized Producer, Live Streamer) all behave identically as viewers of someone else's video — the account type only matters on their own dashboard, not here.

Sign-in prompts everywhere use the same modal, titled «ورود یا ثبتنام در آپارات» (“Log in or sign up to Aparat”), with the field «موبایل یا ایمیل خود را وارد کنید:» (“Enter your mobile or email”) and a Continue («ادامه») button.

Business Rules (overview)
These cross-cutting rules apply across the whole page; each feature sub-page states its own detailed rules.
- BR-1 — Public by default. Watching, reading the description and sections, browsing recommendations/playlists, and reporting work without signing in. See each sub-page for the exact gating.
- BR-2 — Account actions are gated by a server-side configuration, not by the client. The page is told which actions require an account; on the live product that configuration currently gates Like, Save to playlist, and the home surface, and explicitly does not gate loading more videos in the player-side recommendation column. Follow, commenting and download are likewise account actions. For a signed-out visitor the corresponding controls resolve to a sign-in destination rather than to the action.
- BR-3 — One view per load, tracked separately from the page. A view is counted on each page load, signed-out visitors included; watch progress is reported by a dedicated tracking call rather than by the page request.
- BR-4 — Number formatting. Exact counts show digits with a thousands separator (e.g. «۱۵۱،۹۸۶»); rounded counts of a thousand or more use «هزار» (e.g. «14.1 هزار» followers, «۷.۵ هزار بازدید»). Both a formatted and an unformatted variant of each count exist in the data; the formatted one is what the product displays.
- BR-5 — Relative dates, with an exact date available. Publish and activity times are shown relative to now, in Persian (e.g. «۱ ماه پیش», «۲۱ دقیقه پیش»). An exact date and time is also available and is shown where there is room (e.g. «08 تیر 1405 13:04»).
- BR-6 — Owner capabilities. When the signed-in viewer owns the video's channel, comment-moderation, playlist-management and video-management controls appear that are hidden from other viewers.
- BR-7 — Responsive layout. The page has desktop, tablet, and mobile-web layouts; on small screens it reflows to a single column and several panels become bottom-sheet modals (see Mobile & Tablet View).
- BR-8 — The page is built from one bootstrap response. Title, description, channel, playback sources, viewer state, action links, ad hooks and the playlist context all arrive together when the page loads. Comments, recommendations and the save-picker are the exceptions — they load separately, on demand.
- BR-9 — Action links are issued by the server, per viewer and per video. Like, follow, notification bell, comment-send and playlist-toggle are not fixed addresses the page knows in advance; each one is handed to the page as a signed, time-stamped link inside the bootstrap response. When the viewer is signed out, those same links are replaced by sign-in links — which is why every account action leads to the sign-in modal without the page needing its own rule for it.
- BR-10 — VPN notice. When the viewer appears to be using a VPN, the page surfaces «برای تجربه تماشای بهتر، فیلترشکن خود را خاموش کنید.» (“turn your VPN off for a better viewing experience”). See Open Questions for what is still unconfirmed about the trigger.

The player is the fixed hub of the page; most actions open an overlay/modal (dashed below) rather than navigating away, so the viewer keeps watching. Solid arrows are the only transitions that replace what is on screen:
Every edge above is evidenced: the four solid non-player edges come from the links the page is handed when it loads (channel link, playlist and next-video links, the paged recommendation call); the dashed edges come from the design's modal states and the sign-in links that replace account actions for a signed-out viewer.
Mobile & Tablet View
The mobile-web layout differs from desktop in ways that apply across every sub-page; each sub-page notes only its own extra differences.
- Single column. The recommendation column moves below the video, and — when the video belongs to a playlist — the playlist panel appears above the title. Recommendation filter chips sit directly under the player.
- App-install banner. A dismissible banner is pinned to the top: «اپلیکیشن جدید آپارات» / «آپارات را در اندروید، آی او اس و تیوی ببینید.» with Install («نصب») and Close («بستن»).
- “Open in app” prompt. A bottom prompt offers to continue in the native app: Watch in app («تماشا در اپ»), Login («ورود»), Install app («نصب اپلیکیشن»). The design marks the login button inside this prompt as drafted, not shipped — treat the prompt as install-plus-watch, not as a sign-in surface.
- Header “more” menu. The top bar collapses to logo + search («جستجوی ویدئو در آپارات») + a More menu. Its contents depend on sign-in state (signed-out adds Log in to Aparat «ورود به آپارات»), and it contains a submenu of other Aparat services — «آپارات گیم», «آپارات اسپورت», «آپارات کودک», «آپارات موزیک», «آپارات کست», «فیلم و سریال», «فیلیمو مدرسه», «حق نشر», «درآمدزایی از آپارات», «تبلیغات در آپارات», «پشتیبانی», «قوانین آپارات», «بلاگ آپارات», «درباره ما» — plus appearance settings («تنظیمات ظاهر آپارات») offering «حالت شب», «حالت روز» and «پیشفرض سیستم».
- Bottom-sheet modals. Save, Share, and the details/moments panel open as bottom sheets rather than centered dialogs.
- Details/moments sheet. A dedicated sheet surfaces the meta that sits inline on desktop: Like («پسند»), publish date («تاریخ انتشار»), views («بازدید»), Description («توضیحات»), Report («گزارش»), and More («بیشتر...»).
- Tablet. The design provides tablet layouts at roughly 960, 768, and 600 px wide; they follow the desktop structure with progressively narrower columns, then adopt the single-column behavior at the small end.
Open Questions
- 2026-08-02 — VPN notice trigger. The copy is confirmed («برای تجربه تماشای بهتر، فیلترشکن خود را خاموش کنید.») and the design carries two versions of the banner, but nothing in the page's own data identifies a VPN. How is the state detected, and does it block playback or only advise? — waiting on Product.
- 2026-08-02 — Two three-dot menus. The design review flagged that the page carries two separate “more” menus and asked where the second one comes from. Two separate threads were opened on it in 2023 and both were closed in December of that year; the only reply each drew was a request to clarify the question, so what belongs in each menu is still not written down. This documentation describes the menu under the player; the second one is undocumented. — needs confirmation from whoever closed the thread.
- 2026-08-02 — Page-shell gating states. The bootstrap response carries fields for a deleted video, a password-protected video, an operator message, a kids-content flag and a redirect, and only the web client reads them. None was exercised in any capture, so the viewer-facing behaviour of each is unverified. — waiting on Product.
- 2026-07-21 — Paid channel subscription / gift / reserved subscription. Launchable from this page but work-in-progress, and the gift path is annotated as falling back to an older, broken version. Confirm scope and target doc. — waiting on Product.
- 2026-07-21 — Mobile parity. A design thread on the “other conditions” states asks whether they exist in the mobile single view; it was closed in December 2023 with no reply, so the answer is not recorded. Each sub-page's Mobile & Tablet section therefore describes only what the mobile designs actually show, and does not assume desktop states carry over. — needs confirmation from Design.
- 2026-08-02 — Platform coverage. Everything documented here is the web watch page. The native apps and the TV app were never traffic-captured (certificate pinning) and their field documentation is roughly a year older, so this section should not be read as describing them. — informational.
